前一陣子看了好萊塢版和日本版的"Shall we dance"，覺得跳舞真的是一件很美的事情。這兩個版本中男主角與舞老師的最後一支舞，華爾滋配樂是用音樂劇「國王與我」裡面的「shall we dance」。
好萊塢版裡面，比較老的跳舞老師，有唱了一小段，在看電影時，覺得那段歌詞很有趣、很浪漫，好像短短一支舞中，就能找到伴侶。
前幾天有朋友幫我把這首歌抓了下來，抓的就是音樂劇裡面的版本，我對「國王與我 (The kind and I)」的劇情不熟悉，但是今天仔細聽了一聽，覺得還挺浪漫的。
一開始男女主角才剛認識，雖然還很陌生，但是卻不由自主的在人群中互相靠近，
We just been introduced,
I do not know you well.
But when the music started, something drew me to your side.
So many men and girls are in each other's arms.
It make me think, we might be, similarly occupied.
伴著音樂，先是共舞，接著彼此有了好感，
Shall we dance?
On the bright clouds of music, shall we fly?
Shall we dance?
Shall we then say “good-night” to mean “good-bye”?
好感越來越強烈，甚至開始幻想能跟對方有一段感情，
Or the chance, when the last little star has left the sky,
Shall we still be together with our arms around each other,
And shall you be my new romance?
最後這一句最耐人尋味，
On the clear understanding that this kind of things can happen,
Shall we dance? Shall we dance? Shall we dance?
沒想到這首歌說的是在禮教中搞曖昧的情形，女主角似乎已有未婚夫，明明知道跳這支舞會愛上國王，還是繼續跳下去。害我真想看看這齣音樂劇!
